We are a family, we are a team

What can we tell you about dairy farming, other than the fact it’s in our blood! There isn’t any job we’d rather do – we are reminded daily how lucky we are to earn a living this way. For example, as we raise our three girls, the experiences they each have, the opportunities for their friends to visit and help, the connection for us all, with land and nature.

Chris manages the farm with Matt, Jowan, Abbie, Jacob, Naomi and Louis forming the invaluable farm team while Rachel manages the dairy and office with the ‘Dairy Fairies’: being Sarah, Abbie, Maddy, Alicia, Lauren and Jan processing the milk fresh most days!

Sadly Robert Knowles, Chris’s Dad, died suddenly on the farm in August 2018, doing what he loved in the place he loved to be – working on the farm. He brought a wealth of experience and wisdom to the family’s decision making and is sorely missed by us all at Trink.

We love that our product is natural, makes the most of natural resources, the countryside and has animal welfare at the heart of everything we do.  Rachel grew up on a dairy farm near Liskeard, originally started by her Great Grandfather and then both sides of Chris’s family were dairy farmers; his Great Grandparents took their milk to St Ives to be sold – over 100 years ago – we wonder what they would think if they could see us now!
