Moo-ving on up! Royal Cornwall Magazine 2022
Trink Dairy from St. Ives will be making its first appearance at the Royal Cornwall Food & Farming Pavilion at this year’s Show.
The family run business has a reputation for high-quality, great tasting produce, having won a Gold Award from Taste of the West, their third time receiving this accolade, as well as being named the Champion Dairy Product for 2020.
Their milk is especially popular with local businesses and cafés, and proves particularly favoured by top baristas and coffee shops. Dairy Manager, Rachel Knowles acknowledges “People completely underestimate milk, especially for coffee… Trink milk is high in protein and butterfat, and makes such a difference.”
Trink has a process to be proud of, which is proven by allowing their customers to come and watch the cows being milked, and enjoying the fresh local pastures that flourish on their farm, as well as demonstrating the whole process from pasteurisation to bottling – complete transparency for those who want to know where their milk is coming from.

Recent developments include the significant change to milking the herd 10 times in 7 days, with the aim to help with the increase in demand for processed milk and achieve optimum yields, whist keeping the business sustainable.
In addition to this, Trink offer a 24 hour vending machine at the dairy, stocked with milk and other local products, for your complete convenience!
At this years’ Show, Trink Dairy will be teaming with popular Porthleven based bakery, Truly Cornish, to create scrumptious shakes; bound to be one of the most popular refreshments at the event!
However, this isn’t the first interaction that the Trink Dairy family have had with the Show, Chris Knowles’ father, Robert Knowles, before his untimely death in 2018, was the Honorary Show Yard Director for the RCAA for many years, and before this he volunteered as a Steward for the grandstand and horse lorry park. Since establishing the brand in 2016, the business has gone from an honesty box to pasteurising 3 times a week, and proudly supplying customers such as Origin Coffee Roasters and Rick Stein, as well as a visit from HRH The Princess Royal.
The family business is expanding to the next generation with Chris and Rachel’s eldest daughter Maddy joining the fold, helping to drive forward the company brand, part of which is attending the Royal Cornwall Show this June, which the whole family are looking forward to.
